What should I expect during an Acupuncture treatment
During your first visit, a thorough medical history will be taken. Based on the signs, symptoms, tongue and pulse examinations, and the nature of the individual, a Chinese medical diagnosis will be given.
Since TCM uses its own language, this will differ from a biomedical diagnosis and will be different for different people.
For example, three people with a biomedical diagnosis of migraine headache might have three different TCM diagnoses.
Based on the diagnosis, a treatment will be designed and discussed. Treatment may include acupuncture, herbal medicine, heat therapy, massage, and/or nutritional and lifestyle counseling.
