How do I cook my Chinese Healing Herbs?


 

 

There are several form s

of Chinese Herbs   

 


::The first is the Bulk Form.
This form is the most potent, fastest acting and most commonly taken form in China.  It is also more time consuming because of the cooking time required.  The  tea is consumed 2-3 times per day.


::The second choice is the Tincture.
This form is an alcohol extraction of the bulk herbs.  It  is very convenient, easily taken and highly effective.  Between 20-30 drops are mixed with water and taken 2-3 times per day.


::The third is the Powder Form.
This form is  more convenient, and slower acting than the Bulk herbs.  They are mixed with water 2-3 times per day and drunk like tea.


::The fourth form are Pills.
These are very convenient however much less potent.


What Can Chinese Herbs Treat?

 

Any problem in the human body  can be treated with chinese herbal medicine.  After all, it was the only  form of health care to the Chinese people for centuries.  Furthermore, Many  Western medications  have come from botanical sources.


When are they taken?

As with herbal teas, pills or fluid extracts are usually taken on an empty stomach 1/2 hour before or 1 to 2 hours after eating. They are most effective swallowed with warm water since cold drinks inhibit the digestive function of the stomach. Usually, the herbs can be taken with Western medications or vitamin together.
